Logo - Gujarat Technological University (GTU)

The lotus acts as a very unique design for a university’s logo, one that will be different from the stereotypical shapes and hence stand out more, and stay in the minds of viewers for longer. Apart from being India’s national flower, it also symbolizes Brahma – the Creator of the universe, and is also the symbol of ‘wholeness’. Each of Gujarat Technological University’s five disciplines – Engineering, Architecture, Management, Pharmacy, and Computer Science are depicted in each Lotus petal, all of which, combined together, as a whole, symbolizes what GTU stands for – all the disciplines, as a whole, together in one place. This best compliments the words ‘Samuchit Gyan Samanvay’ which translates to ‘all-round knowledge’
Each symbol/pattern within the petal are ones that most laymen would relate the respective disciplines with. For example - Electrocardiogram readouts in one of the petals will help viewers relate it with ‘medicine or pharmacy’.
The color pink is used to make the idea of using a lotus even more clearly. Also, this design is one that would look fitting even in a Black & White print.
